Omar asks INDIA bloc to join NC’s protest over J&K’s statehood

Srinagar, Jun 8: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday urged INDIA bloc allies to join the National Conference’s protests in New Delhi over the restoration of Jammu & Kashmir’s statehood.
In a post on X, Omar, during the INDIA bloc’s meeting in New Delhi today, called on coalition partners to participate in the NC’s protests over the restoration of statehood.
“In the INDIA Bloc meeting held today, Hon’ble CM Omar Abdullah asked all the participants to join JKNC when we come to Delhi to protest for the restoration of statehood. He also informed them that we would be writing to each of them individually as well, “the NC said in the post.
At its meeting held on June 3 at Dachigam, the ruling National Conference decided to hold protests in New Delhi on the opening day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
The Monsoon Session of Parliament is generally convened in the third week of July and runs until mid or late August.
In the meeting, Omar Abdullah is understood to have told that Congress is a glue that holds INDIA bloc together.
“Let us look ahead to 2029 and let us acknowledge that Congress is the glue that holds India together,” Omar is understood to have said.
The INDIA bloc meeting at Constitution Club in New Delhi, was also attended by PDP president Mehbooba Mufti.
In the meeting, the opposition parties deliberated on key national and political issues and discussed a coordinated strategy against the BJP-led Centre. (KNO)
