Banihal, Jun 30: Two persons were killed while several others sustained injuries after a truck collided with a tractor on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Peerah area of Ramban district late Monday night.
An official said that the accident occurred at around 10:35 pm near New Khajuria Dhaba at Peerah when a truck bearing (No. RJ37GA-7418), on its way from Jammu to Srinagar, collided with a tractor.
He said an unidentified man died on the spot, while two to three others were injured in the mishap. All the injured were shifted to District Hospital Ramban.
At the hospital, another injured person, identified as Subash, son of Norang Lal and a resident of Rajasthan, succumbed to his injuries, the official added.
Meanwhile, police have registered an FIR at Police Station Chanderkote and initiated investigation into the incident. (KNO)
