Jammu, Jul 11: Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth on Saturday felicitated Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khour, Satish Sharma, in recognition of his leadership and coordination during Operation Sindoor, under which more than 73,000 civilians were safely evacuated from villages along the Line of Control (LoC).
The Army recognized Sharma’s role in overseeing one of the largest civilian evacuation operations in the region, ensuring the safe relocation of residents from vulnerable border areas amid heightened security concerns.
According to officials, the evacuation was carried out under the supervision of the SDM through close coordination between the civil administration, security agencies, and local authorities.
