Reasi, Sep 3: Security forces on Thursday recovered arms and ammunition from a hideout in the Khataji area of Mahore in Reasi district, officials said.
An official said that the recovery was made during a joint search operation launched by the Army’s 58 Rashtriya Rifles, Special Operations Group (SOG) and Jammu and Kashmir Police based on specific intelligence inputs.
He said the recovered items included a pistol, an AK-47 magazine, a hand grenade and ammunition.
The official said the ammunition comprised 140 rounds of AK-47, 19 rounds of PIKA and 25 rounds of 9mm pistol ammunition. Six cassettes were also recovered.
Further details, including the seizure memo, are awaited, he said, adding that the investigation is ongoing. (KNO)
