At current pace, NC will take 222.6 years to deliver on its 1 lakh job promise, says Sajad Lone

Srinagar, Sep 21: Reacting to Government’s admission in Assembly that only 899 new jobs have been created in the past two years, Peoples Conference president Sajad Gani Lone on Monday ridiculed the National Conference’s election pledge of creating one lakh jobs, saying at the current pace it would take the party more than 222 years to deliver on its promise.
In a post on X, Lone termed NC’s manifesto is a litany of lies.
“The NC manifesto is nothing but a litany of lies,” Lone said in the Assembly. In their election manifesto, NC promised to create 100000 new jobs. Till date they have created 899 jobs. It means that at current rate it will take them 222.46 years to create 100000 jobs. What a joke. The bigger joke is on those people who bought this lie,” he said.
Lone said that NC had also promised to fill all vacancies within 180 days.
“In their election manifesto, NC also promised to fill all vacancies in government departments within 180 days. Today, it was revealed that only 7,580 vacancies have been filled in the past two years. As on date, 40672 posts remain vacant. Data shows that 24427 non‑gazetted posts, 3318 gazetted posts, and 12927 multi‑tasking staff positions are still unfilled at this pace, it will take more than a decade to fill up these 40672 posts,” he said.
Lone further pointed out that the NC had vowed to fill all government vacancies within 180 days, yet official figures show only 7580 posts have been filled in two years. “As on date, 40672 posts remain vacant-24427 non‑gazetted, 3318 gazetted, and 12927 multi‑tasking staff. At this pace, it will take decades to clear the backlog,” he said. (KNO)
