J&K upper reaches likely to witness light snowfall, rains from Oct 6-10: MeT

Srinagar, Oct 5: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness light snowfall and rains over higher reaches from October 6 to 10, the Meteorological Centre said on Monday.
According to the forecast, J&K would witness thunderstorms, gusty winds and scattered rainfall in the next few days.
The MeT advised people to ensure safe storage of apples and paddy in view of the expected weather conditions between October 6 and 10. “From October 11 to 15 weather will remain partly cloudy,” the MeT said.
Meanwhile, temperatures remained above normal at several places in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 30.8 degrees Celsius, which was 5.3 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 12.3 degrees Celsius, 3.3 degrees above normal.
Qazigund recorded a maximum of 31 degrees Celsius, 6.9 degrees above normal, and a minimum of 10.2 degrees Celsius.
Pahalgam recorded a maximum of 26.6 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 7.4 degrees Celsius, while Gulmarg recorded 23 degrees Celsius and 9 degrees Celsius, respectively.
In Jammu, the maximum temperature was 33 degrees Celsius, 0.6 degrees above normal, while the minimum settled at 23 degrees Celsius, 2.1 degrees above normal.
No rainfall was recorded at the stations listed by the weather department during the reporting period. (KNO)
