Srinagar, Oct 19: With the commencement of annual regular Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) exams, nearly 97,000 students appeared for the Class 10th exams on Monday.
The officials said that the exam was held in 1,003 centres across Kashmir and a few districts of winter-zone areas of Jammu division.
JKBOSE has said that nearly 97500 students have been enrolled for the exams that includes 72,232 from Kashmir and 25,268 from winter zones of Jammu division.
Pertinently, JKBOSE has informed that at least 2,70,000 students have registered to appear in board exams of 10th, 11th and 12th standard.
JKBOSE Chairman, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh had said that 2,70,000 students have been enrolled for exams in all three classes. “There are 10 districts of the Kashmir region and six districts of winter zone areas of Jammu division,” he said.
He also said that the Board has setup 2402 exam centres for all the three classes. “We have appointed the staff including superintendents, deputy superintendents and supervisors. So, that kind of process has already been completed.”
The Board chairman further said that “All the arrangements that we had to make were completed before the scheduled time.”
He said, “The students in 11th and 12th have already had experience. But the students who are coming in 10th exams, I would like to request them not to worry. This is a normal exam. There is no need to worry. The papers are also normal.”
Sheikh said that the question papers are very normal and in accordance with the benchmark of competencies set up in National Education Policy 2020. (KNO)
