Coronavirus: 5 patients die, 1086 test positive in JK

Srinagar, Apr 14: The Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir continue to show a spurt as 1,086 fresh positive cases were reported on Wednesday pushing the number of active cases near 9,390 which otherwise were less than 600 around a month before.

Five more deaths were reported in J&K in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 2,042 and active cases continue to increase and the recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 1,086 fresh positive cases reported on Wednesday pushed the tally of positive cases to 141,736.

Of the exact number of 141,736 cases, 85,050 are from Kashmir and 56,686 from Jammu division.

Officials said that among 1,086 new cases, 684 belong to Kashmir division while as 402 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 85,050 including 77,928 recoveries and 1,285 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 56,686 including 52,375 recoveries and 757 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 9,390 including 5,836 from Kashmir division and 3,554 from Jammu division.

With 372 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 130,304 which is 91.93 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 388 from Srinagar, 107 from Baramulla, 53 from Budgam, 12 from Pulwama, 23 from Kupwara, 29 from Anantnag, 23 from Bandipora, 19 from Ganderbal, 19 from Kulgam and 11 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 402 from Jammu division include 199 from Jammu, 37 from Udhampur, 12 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 23 from Kathua, 19 from Samba,  00 from Kishtwar, 19 from Poonch, 07 from Ramban and 85 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 33,026 positive cases including 482 deaths and 29,196 recoveries are from Srinagar, 10,002 including 183 deaths and 8,966 recoveries are from Baramulla, 8,731 including 8,217 recoveries and 123 deaths are from Budgam, 6,179 including 5,879 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Pulwama, 6,080 including 98 deaths and 5,748 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,468 including 5,123 recoveries and 99 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,924 cases including 4,711 and 63 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,844 including 4,681 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Ganderbal, 3,059 including 2,799 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,737 including 2,609 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 27,788 including 25,542 recoveries and 394 deaths are from Jammu district, 5,053 including 4,333 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,982 including 3,837 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,504 including 3,399 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,610 including 3,371 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,973 including 2,822 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Samba, 2,787 including 2,734 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,608 including 2,519 recoveries and 28 deaths are from Poonch, 2,188 including 2,139 recoveries and 23 deaths are from Ramban and 2,193 including 1,679 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,633,270 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 65,515 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 9,390 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,424,244 persons have completed surveillance period and 132,079 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 6,611,924 samples are available. Out of 6,611,924 the number of samples tested negative stands at 6,470,188 while as 141,736 have tested positive, among them 9,390 persons are active, 130,304 persons have recovered and 2,042 persons have died.
