Jammu, May 1: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan on Saturday said that situation in Jammu and Kashmir is much under control and “we won’t allow ‘panic’ scenes in J&K that people see on television (from other states).
While taking to reporters in Kathua after visiting GMC Kathua, Khan said: “People of Jammu and Kashmir must trust doctors, health department as administration is fully aware of the situation and we won’t allow the ‘chaotic’ scenes in J&K that you see on television about other states.”
He further said that people should not panic as UT administration has sufficient stocks or drug and medicines and hospital staffs, adding in coming day we may require more oxygen, so we are preparing for it and soon Oxygen plant in Kathua hospital will be functional.
Khan claimed that J&K will have ample resources in coming days that it helps other states in future.
Denying commenting of incident of Batra hospital, Khan said: “I will not comment on the any news run by social media.”
About increasing death rate of COVID positive patients, he said, “People become carefree after the attack of first wave of COVID. Most of us and particularly youngsters thought that COVID was over but unfortunately it strike back.”
Khan appealed people to follow all SOPs and realize the importance of using face masks.
Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Malik, SSP Romesh Kotwal also accompanied him.
