Abdullahs greet people on Shab-e-Qadar

Srinagar, May 8: National Conference (NC) President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah have greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Qadr.
In a message, Dr Farooq Abdullah said that this holy night provides us an opportunity to pray for Almighty’s blessings and strive for being compassionate, pious and dutiful.“It is the unique and holy night when Almighty Allah chose to reveal the holy Qu’ran to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) for the guidance of the mankind,” he said.
Omar Abdullah in his message said, “The blessed night provides opportunity to us to spend the night in praying and seeking forgiveness and blessings from Allah.”
According to a statement, the duo wished prosperity and peace to Jammu and Kashmir and prayed for the well-being and welfare of the people.
The Party President and Vice President also extended their felicitations to devotees on the occasion of Urs of Patron Saint of Kashmir , Hazrat Alamdar-e-Kashmir, Hazrat Sheikh Noor-Ud-din Noorani (RA) and said his teachings and spiritual legacy was and will continue to be the guiding light of Kashmir’s rich traditions of Sufism and spirituality.
The duo said Hazrat Sheikh Nur Ud Din Wali Reshi (RA) is unarguably the most influential saint of Kashmir whose sayings are imprinted on the hearts of Kashmiri people. “Nund Reshi (RA) called for human brotherhood, god consciousness and penance. His saying spoke about the connection between man and god, conservation of environment and piety. He exhorted people towards good conduct, respecting dignity of life and self realization. His universal message despised extravagance and excesses which he said were the root causes of moral degradation of mankind,” they said. The duo prayed the auspicious day acts as harbinger of peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustufa Kamal, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Senior leader former Minister Abdul Rahim Rathar, Party MPs Muhammad Akbar Lone, and Hasnain Masoodi, Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar have also felicitated people on the eve of Shab-e-Qadar and Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Noor Ud Din Noorani (RA).
