Coronavirus: JK records 65 deaths, 4352 new cases

Srinagar, May 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Tuesday witnessed 65 deaths, highest since pandemic due to Covid-19 while 4,352 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 50,701.
With 65 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 2,847 and the active cases continue to increase and the recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 4,352 fresh positive cases reported on Tuesday pushed the tally of positive cases to 224,898 The big jumps in the positive cases and the mortality continue to come amid lockdown across J&K UT.
Of the exact number of 224,898 cases, 138,662 are from Kashmir division and 86,236 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 4,352 new cases, 2,622 belong to Kashmir division while as 1,708 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 138,662 including 104,406 recoveries and 1,596 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 86,236 including 66,944 recoveries and 1,251 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 50,701 including 32,660 from Kashmir division and 18,041 from Jammu division.
With 3,537 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 171,350 which is 76.19 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 846 from Srinagar, 361 from Baramulla, 322 from Budgam, 282 from Pulwama, 171 from Kupwara, 198 from Anantnag, 85 from Bandipora, 52 from Ganderbal, 269 from Kulgam and 58 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 1,708 from Jammu division include 658 from Jammu, 156 from Udhampur, 208 from Rajouri, 81 from Doda, 251 from Kathua, 101 from Samba, 52 from Kishtwar, 87 from Poonch, 67 from Ramban and 103 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Out of 65 deaths reported today, 16 died in GMC Jammu, 02 in GN Hosp (MCH Wing GMC), 03 in ASCOMS, 01 in CD Hosp Jmu, 03 in GMC Kathua, 02 in EMC SSH Amritsar, 02 in DH Udhampur, 01 in CH Udhampur, 02 in MH Satwari, 02 in SMVDNH Katra, 01 in SMGS Jmu, 08 in Home/ Brought Dead, 04 in SKIMS Soura, 05 in SMHS Sgr, 01 in GMC Baramulla, 02 in DH Ganderbal, 02 in DH Pulwama, 07 in GMC Anantnag & 01 in DH Bandipora.
As per officials figures, 54,681 positive cases including 630 deaths and 43,046 recoveries are from Srinagar, 16,928 including 213 deaths and 12,747 recoveries are from Baramulla, 14,584 including 10,668 recoveries and 146 deaths are from Budgam, 9,419 including 6,955 recoveries and 124 deaths are from Pulwama, 8,707 including 110 deaths and 6,962 recoveries are from Kupwara, 10,526 including 6,581 recoveries and 127 deaths are from Anantnag, 6,391 cases including 5,527 and 71 deaths are from Bandipora, 6,407 including 5,392 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Ganderbal, 6,935 including 3,611 recoveries and 73 deaths are from Kulgam and 4,084 including 2,917 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 41,197 including 32,767 recoveries and 714 deaths are from Jammu district, 7,835 including 6,360 recoveries and 83 deaths are from Udhampur, 6,994 including 4,115 recoveries and 100 deaths are from Rajouri, 4,247 including 3,632 recoveries and 71 deaths are from Doda, 6,420 including 4,809 recoveries and 80 deaths are from Kathua, 4,991 including 3,335 recoveries and 72 deaths are from Samba, 3,250 including 2,990 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Kishtwar, 3,778 including 2,869 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Poonch, 3,340 including 2,588 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Ramban and 4,184 including 3,479 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,926,488 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 86,264 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 50,701 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,654,803 persons have completed surveillance period and 131,873 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 7,731,176 samples are available. Out of 7,731,176 the number of samples tested negative stands at 7,506,278 while as 224,898 have tested positive, among them 50,701 persons are active, 171,350 persons have recovered and 2,847 persons have died.
