Coronavirus: JK records 71 deaths, 3967 positive cases

Srinagar, May 18: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Tuesday witnessed 71 deaths due to Covid-19 while 3,967 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 50,925.
With 71more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 3,293 and 3,967 fresh positive cases reported on Tuesday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 251,919. The big jump in the positive cases and the mortality continue to comes at a time when J&K is under tight grip of Carona Curfew since April 29.
Of the exact number of 251,919 cases, 154,102 are from Kashmir division and 97,817 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 3,967 new cases, 2,263 belong to Kashmir division while as 1,704 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 154,102 including 122,437 recoveries and 1,761 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 97,817 including 75,264 recoveries and 1,532 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 50,925 including 29,904 from Kashmir division and 21,021 from Jammu division.
With 3,823 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 197,701 which is 78.47 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 666 from Srinagar, 196 from Baramulla, 454 from Budgam, 127 from Pulwama, 120 from Kupwara, 156 from Anantnag, 134 from Bandipora, 116 from Ganderbal, 190 from Kulgam and 104 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 1,704 from Jammu division include 522 from Jammu, 272 from Udhampur, 141 from Rajouri, 59 from Doda, 183 from Kathua, 107 from Samba, 49 from Kishtwar, 123 from Poonch, 188 from Ramban and 60 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Out of 71 deaths reported today, 18 died in GMC Jammu, 01 in CD Hosp Jmu, 03 in GMC Rajouri, 02 in CH Udhampur, 04 in GMC Kathua, 01 in GH Rajouri, 01 in GMC Doda, 01 in GH Gandhi Nagar Jmu, 02 in ASCOMS Jmu, 01 in DH Udhampur, 01 in SMVDNH Katra, 01 in CHC Ramnagar, 03 in Home/ Brought Dead, 02 in SKIMS JVC Bemina, 02 in SKIMS Soura, 05 in SMHS Sgr, 04 in DH Pulwama, 01 in DH Bandipora, 02 in DH Ganderbal, 01 in DH Kulgam, 01 in CHC Sopore, 02 in GMC Anantnag, 04 in GMC Baramulla, 02 in CD Hosp Srinagar, 04 in JLNM Sgr, 02 in CHC Kupwara.
As per officials figures, 59,191 positive cases including 701 deaths and 50,699 recoveries are from Srinagar, 18,352 including 226 deaths and 15,279 recoveries are from Baramulla, 16,852 including 12,479 recoveries and 154 deaths are from Budgam, 11,014 including 8,386 recoveries and 142 deaths are from Pulwama, 9,616 including 126 deaths and 7,755 recoveries are from Kupwara, 11,931 including 7,697 recoveries and 140 deaths are from Anantnag, 7,224 cases including 6,059 and 78 deaths are from Bandipora, 7,166 including 6,032 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Ganderbal, 8,114 including 4,594 recoveries and 83 deaths are from Kulgam and 4,642 including 3,457 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 45,357 including 36,594 recoveries and 862 deaths are from Jammu district, 9,342 including 7,438 recoveries and 104 deaths are from Udhampur, 8,323 including 4,762 recoveries and 142 deaths are from Rajouri, 4,831 including 3,787 recoveries and 75 deaths are from Doda, 7,588 including 6,072 recoveries and 103 deaths are from Kathua, 5,843 including 3,622 recoveries and 87 deaths are from Samba, 3,612 including 3,205 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Kishtwar, 4,406 including 2,967 recoveries and 66 deaths are from Poonch, 3,917 including 2,964 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Ramban and 4,598 including 3,853 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,983,113 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 75,443 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 50,925 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,728,643 persons have completed the surveillance period and 124,809 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 7,996,880 samples are available. Out of 7,996,880 the number of samples tested negative stands at 7,744,961 while as 251,919 have tested positive, among them 50,925 persons are active, 197,701 persons have recovered and 3,293 persons have died.
