Srinagar, May 24: Police on Monday said that an FIR has been registered against a music director for allegedly creating ruckus at Pari Mahal in the summer capital, Srinagar.
However, Jaan Nissar Lone, whose Twitter handle claims that he is a Bollywood music director, alleged that he was threatened by the police while he was going to Pari Mahal to shoot a Sufi song.
“An FIR has been registered regarding the ruckus created at Pari Mahal. Investigation is on,” official twitter handle of Srinagar police wrote in response to the tweet by Lone.
“The gentleman did not have a curfew pass. He tried to bulldoze his way by misbehaving with security personnel into a heritage building closed for visitors. He wanted to do film shooting in high security zone without permission from district administration,” the Srinagar police wrote.
The twitter handle of police was responding to a tweet by Lone, which read, “There is no end to atrocities on the streets in #Kashmir. Amid Covid lockdown while I flew from Mumbai to Kashmir, a month ago to shoot a Sufi song. To my utter disgust I witnessed how common people r subjected to inhuman & atrocious treatment by few policewale.”
Lone in a series of tweets also requested Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to direct ‘policemen on the streets to learn basic manners and also respect the human life and human values’.
“In a bizarre incident today SHO Nishat, Sajad & his men stopped me on way to Parimahal, paraded me along the roadside and asked me not to touch his car “Gaadi se dhoor reh, Ghandi hogayegi.” He threatened. I just replied to this rude guy. Try to master the weapon of Tehzeeb,” Lone wrote.
“I humbly request LG @manojsinha_ sahab, who is know for his compassionate gesture and magnanimity to at-least direct policemen on the streets to learn basic manners and also respect the human life and human values. I think they don’t consider it a #Covid lockdown,” he added.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration on April 25 announced the closure of all paid public parks and monuments till further orders to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the Union Territory. Meanwhile, strict restrictions continued for the fourth successive week as the COVID curfew, which was supposed to end on Monday, was extended for another week till May 31 in view of no significant dip in the number of fresh Coronavirus cases in Kashmir valley.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Saturday extended the COVID curfew, which was supposed to end on May 23, by another week till May 31 in all 20 districts of the Union Territory amid no letup in the number of fresh coronavirus cases and deaths. This is the fourth successive extension of COVID curfew since April 29 in the valley, where the vaccination drive has picked up after severe criticism over non-availability of jabs for several weeks.
