Coronavirus: 37 deaths, 2769 test positive in JK

Srinagar, May 27: In a major breather for the people of J&K, death figure Thursday showed a significant dip as only 37 deaths were reported while positivity of cases also declined as 2796 fresh positive cases were reported in the UT. Total active case tally of J&K has gone up to 42272.
With 37 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 3,739 and 2,769 fresh positive cases reported on Wednesday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 281,628. Jammu and Kashmir is under tight grip of Carona Curfew since April 29.
Of the exact number of 281,628 cases, 173,052 are from Kashmir division and 108,576 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 2,769 new cases, 1,805 belong to Kashmir division while as 964 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 173,052 including 145,753 recoveries and 1,931 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 108,576 including 89,864 recoveries and 1,808 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 42,272 including 25,368 from Kashmir division and 16,904 from Jammu division.
With 4,352 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 235,617 which is 83.66 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 377 from Srinagar, 260 from Baramulla, 195 from Budgam, 196 from Pulwama, 217 from Kupwara, 205 from Anantnag, 78 from Bandipora, 96 from Ganderbal, 146 from Kulgam and 35 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 964 from Jammu division include 384 from Jammu, 63 from Udhampur, 95 from Rajouri, 88 from Doda, 50 from Kathua, 35 from Samba, 22 from Kishtwar, 47 from Poonch, 78 from Ramban and 102 from Reasi,” officials disclosed
Out of 37 deaths reported today, 09 died in GMC Jammu, 01 in GMC Kathua, 01 in ASCOMS Jmu, 05 in GMC Rajouri, 01 in GH Rajouri, 03 in SMVDNH Katra, 01 in IV Hosp Amritsar, 01 in Capitol Hosp Jhallandhar, 01 in Fortis Amritsar, 03 in Home/ Brought Dead, 01 in SMHS Sgr, 01 in SKIMS Bemina, 01 in DH Bandipora, 01 in GMC Anantnag, 01 in GMC Baramulla, 01 in JLNM Hospital, 02 in CD Hosp Sgr, 02 in DH Kulgam & 01 in TH Bijbehara.
As per officials figures, 63,825 positive cases including 755 deaths and 57,620 recoveries are from Srinagar, 20,695 including 249 deaths and 17,357 recoveries are from Baramulla, 19,553 including 16,223 recoveries and 171 deaths are from Budgam, 12,518 including 10,150 recoveries and 161 deaths are from Pulwama, 11,348 including 138 deaths and 9,299 recoveries are from Kupwara, 13,920 including 9,803 recoveries and 157 deaths are from Anantnag, 8,209 cases including 7,143 and 85 deaths are from Bandipora, 8,288 including 6,970 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ganderbal, 9,531 including 7,237 recoveries and 94 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,165 including 3,951 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 49,395 including 41,751 recoveries and 1,013 deaths are from Jammu district, 10,366 including 9,326 recoveries and 116 deaths are from Udhampur, 9,379 including 6,674 recoveries and 169 deaths are from Rajouri, 5,434 including 4,170 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Doda, 8,584 including 7,605 recoveries and 127 deaths are from Kathua, 6,606 including 4,522 recoveries and 105 deaths are from Samba, 3,897 including 3,585 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kishtwar, 4,947 including 3,948 recoveries and 77 deaths are from Poonch, 4,843 including 3,777 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Ramban and 5,125 including 4,506 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,058,592 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 78,768 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 42,272 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,790,046 persons have completed surveillance period and 143,767 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 8,403,522 samples are available. Out of 8,403,522 the number of samples tested negative stands at 8,121,894 while as 281,628 have tested positive, among them 42,272 persons are active, 235,617 persons have recovered and 3,739 persons have died.
