Coronavirus: 2253 new cases, 46 deaths in JK

Srinagar, May 29: Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory on Saturday logged 2,253 fresh Covid-19 cases and reported 46 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of total active cases in the UT to 39,255.
With 46 more deaths, the death toll in the UT has reached to 3,841 and 2,253 fresh positive cases reported today, has pushed the tally of positive cases to 286,684 even as Jammu and Kashmir is remains under tight Corona Curfew since April 29.
Of the total number of 286,684 cases, 176,305 are from Kashmir division and 110,379 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 2,253 new cases, 1,459 belong to Kashmir division while as 794 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 176,305 including 150,085 recoveries and 1,973 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 110,379 including 93,503 recoveries and 1,868 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 39,255 including 24,247 from Kashmir division and 15,008 from Jammu division.
With 4,334 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 243,588 which is 84.96 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 353 from Srinagar, 162 from Baramulla, 169 from Budgam, 142 from Pulwama, 203 from Kupwara, 184 from Anantnag, 69 from Bandipora, 52 from Ganderbal, 91 from Kulgam and 34 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 794 from Jammu division include 343 from Jammu, 60 from Udhampur, 60 from Rajouri, 54 from Doda, 47 from Kathua, 23 from Samba, 32 from Kishtwar, 70 from Poonch, 66 from Ramban and 39 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Out of 46 deaths reported today, 12 died in GMC Jammu, 01 in Govt. Hosp GN Jmu, 02 in CH Udhampur, 02 in DH Kishtwar, 01 in SPS Hospital Ludhiana, 01 in Fortis Amritsar, 01 in Badrinath Hosp Amritsar, 01 in GMC Doda, 03 in GMC Rajouri, 01 in MH Satwari, 02 in SMVDNH Katra, 03 in Home/ Brought Dead, 01 in SMHS Sgr, 02 in SKIMS JVC Bemina, 01 in SKIMS Soura, 02 in DH Bandipora, 01 in GB Pant Sgr., 03 in GMC Baramulla, 01 in JLNM Hospital, 02 in DH Pulwama, 01 in DH Ganderbal, 01 in CHC Kupwara & 01 in Base Hosp Badamibagh.
As per the official figures, 64,560 positive cases including 764 deaths and 58,739 recoveries are from Srinagar, 21,061 including 258 deaths and 17,888 recoveries are from Baramulla, 19,945 including 17,088 recoveries and 176 deaths are from Budgam, 12,839 including 10,412 recoveries and 166 deaths are from Pulwama, 11,779 including 140 deaths and 9,680 recoveries are from Kupwara, 14,311 including 10,073 recoveries and 161 deaths are from Anantnag, 8,335 cases including 7,261 and 90 deaths are from Bandipora, 8,508 including 7,214 recoveries and 68 deaths are from Ganderbal, 9,716 including 7,718 recoveries and 96 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,251 including 4,012 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 50,058 including 43,121 recoveries and 1,043 deaths are from Jammu district, 10,497 including 9,509 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Udhampur, 9,546 including 7,310 recoveries and 180 deaths are from Rajouri, 5,570 including 4,287 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Doda, 8,710 including 7,908 recoveries and 130 deaths are from Kathua, 6,700 including 5,058 recoveries and 110 deaths are from Samba, 3,959 including 3,664 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Kishtwar, 5,109 including 4,009 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Poonch, 4,986 including 4,023 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Ramban and 5,244 including 4,614 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,076,265 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 79,588 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 39,255 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,808,379 persons have completed surveillance period and 145,202 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 8,492,134 samples are available. Out of 8,492,134 the number of samples tested negative stands at 8,205,450 while as 286,684 have tested positive, among them 39,255 persons are active, 243,588 persons have recovered and 3,841 persons have died.
