Mutton dealers suspend livestock imports to J&K over Punjab ‘tax’ row

Srinagar, Jun 7: Amid lockdown and unfavourable seasonal changes, cherry rates have doubled in comparison to the last year.
A fruit dealer Athar Mir said that the production of cherry as compared to last year is less due to inconsistent weather condition.
“Various areas were affected due to hail and fluctuating weather. Cherry fruit requires a constant temperature for proper and perfect growth,” Mir said. ” last year cherry costs at Rs 75 per kg and this year it is Rs 150 per kg.”
Notably, street vendors are facing hardships as two days open in a week is not in favour of selling cherry’s on carts because of its short lifespan. (KNO)
