Srinagar, Jun 17: A policeman was shot dead by militants near his residence at Saidapora Eidgah area Srinagar on Thursday evening, officials said.
A police official said that the policeman, Javaid Ahmad Tambi of Saidpora, was critically injured in the attack near his residence and removed to SKIMS Soura. He was declared brought dead on arrival at the tertiary care hospital, they said.
A senior police officer confirmed the killing of the policeman and said that he was posted with a judicial officer. He has shortly returned to home after duties, they said. (GNS)
