DIG NKR visits Kupwara, reviews security scenario

Srinagar, Jun 19: Deputy Inspector General of Police North Kashmir Range Sujit Kumar-IPS visited District Kupwara, chairs officers’ meeting, reviewed security scenario and presented medals to the awardees.
The DIG NKR was received by SSP Kupwara Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS and was presented ceremonial guard of honour on his arrival at DPO Complex Kupwara.
DIG NKR chaired the security review meeting with Police officers to assess the law & order situation in the district. He appreciated the role of Kupwara Police for their professionalism in maintaining peace and public order in the district by keeping the criminal activities under check. He also hailed the role of Kupwara Police in combating drug menace in the district and exhorted upon the officers to remain cautious and alert in order to maintain peaceful atmosphere in the district as the anti-national elements are trying to disturb the peace and stability in the area. He directed the officers to ensure better synergy among the forces to thwart any nefarious designs of the enemies of the nation.
He also directed the officers to strengthen the security grid and plug the gaps with tight security measures to neutralise those involved in terrorist and criminal activities. He said that stringent action must be taken against the elements found involved in unlawful activities for maintaining peaceful environment. He further directed the officers to maintain close liaison with the public for maintenance of peace and order.
The meeting was attended by SSP Kupwara Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS, ASP Kupwara Raja Zohaib-JKPS, DySP Hqrs Kupwara, DySP PC Lolab and DySP DAR Kupwara.
Later, DIG NKR also presented the medals to awardees who have shown their excellence in different fields and appreciated their role in Police department.
