Kupwara, Jun 24: An infant was among two killed on Thursday in a road accident close to the Line of Control (LoC) at Jabdi area of Karnah sector in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district while eight others were injured including four women.
According to reports, an infant and an elderly person was killed on the spot while four women and a driver were among eight others injured in the road accident this afternoon after a sumo vehicle turned turtle in the Jabdi area.
They said that of the total 10 individuals including a driver two died while eight others were shifted to Sub District Hospital Tangdhar for treatment.
“A baby boy and a 90-year-old are the two who were declared brought dead at SDH Tangdhar,” sources said.
The elderly man has been identified as Saddar Ali Shah son of Fazal Ali Shah a resident of Upper Jabdi.
They also said that among the eight a couple critically injured identified as Shamas Begum and her husband Mohammad Yasin resident of Upper Jabdi who has suffered head injuries were shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment from SDH Tangdhar.
They informed that one of the injured Razia Begum has been shifted to District Hospital Handwara for advanced treatment.
Sources identified the five being treated at SDH Tanghdar as Imtiyaz Ahmad, Mureeda Begum, and Abida Bibi besides an infant and a minor of 5-years old.
