The time has come when the student community needs to be given a chance to get education properly after the closure of the schools for the gap of over two years intermittently. Though the teachers have been delivering lectures everyday through the medium of mobile phones. But online education cannot be considered as parallel to virtual classes. The government has ordered closure of all the schools, colleges, universities and coaching centres across Jammu and Kashmir in wake of the outbreak of second Covid wave that spread aggressively among the masses in the last two months. However, the ground situation has improved to a large extent and the government has finally started taking steps to ease the restrictions, allowing the business community to conduct business, allowing public transport on the roads and several other things. In such a situation, the conduct of open air classes by the government should also be a focus at present so that the distressed students, who failed to get the education properly in the past two years, would heave a sigh of relief. At some places, the school administrations have started taking community classes, giving relief to the students. The government should consider holding open air classes across Jammu and Kashmir so that the student community could heave a sigh of relief. It would not only help the students, but also the teachers who have been facing difficulties while delivering lectures through online means.
