Anantnag, Jun 26: A vital Achabal-Chatabal road in Anantnag district is in a very bad condition since the past many years as locals allege that authorities have been macadamising some patches after years.
Locals said that the around 20-kilometre Achabal-Chatabal road is a vital road connecting dozens of villages with district headquarters Anantnag.
“But the road has been neglected by the authorities even though the locals have complained about it many times,” the local residents said.
They said the road is also leading to famous tourist spot Chatabal.
“Despite connecting various important villages with rest of the district, authorities due to unknown reasons have been taking this road for granted,” locals said. “The road was macadamized several years ago and is lying in shambles, but no attention is being given to the repeated requests of local residents.”
“We want to bring it to the notice of concerned authorities to improve the condition of the road at the earliest so that we don’t have to suffer anymore,” they said.
They requested LG Manoj Sinha and DC Anantnag to look into the matter.
