Ganderbal, Jul 1: A 75-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her home in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday.
An official said that a woman (name withheld) from Zazna area of the district consumed some poisonous substance at her home. She was immediately rushed to SMHS hospital for treatment, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
“The deceased was mentally unsound and had a weak eye sight,” he said.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and have started investigation into the matter.
