MoS Home reviews security situation along IB, vital installations in Jammu

Jammu, Jul 2: Days after twin drone attack on Air Force Station Jammu, Minister of State (Home), G Kishan Reddy Friday reviewed security scenario of International Border and vital security installations of the winter capital of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The MOS Home visited Border Security Forces (BSF) Frontier headquarters Jammu and reviewed the security situation.
A BSF spokesperson said that the Mos Home was received by N S Jamwal, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu.
The IG gave a detailed operational presentation to the Minister on the current security situation on the Jammu Border. He was apprised about threats and challenges on the Jammu border and robust Border domination plan of BSF in place to counter these challenges.
The Minister was also shown the different surveillance systems and innovation adopted by the BSF in Border to neutralise the trans-border threats from the Counterpart side.
During his visit to FTR HQ Jammu, Reddy also addressed a Prahari Sammelan, where about 250 BSF Officers and men were present.
Earlier, he paid his tribute to the Martyrs of the BSF who had made supreme sacrifice for the unity and integrity of the Country. He lauded the capabilities of BSF personnels.
Reddy emphasized that BSF, being the First Line of Defence, has been doing excellent duties on the International Border specially on Jammu IB and is very successful in eliminating the threats from Counterpart, be it infiltration , tunneling ,smuggling or drones.
The Minister said that BSF has been doing its duties in very harsh and difficult conditions 24x7x365 but has always stood up to the challenges successfully.
Reddy told the audience that it is a matter of pride for him to see the Mahila Praharies sitting amongst Jawans and rendering their services on the border with equal zeal and enthusiasm.
The Minister appreciated the recent success of Jammu Ftr wherein the BSF troops were successful in eliminating intruders from across the border, seizing large quantities of Narcotics and detecting underground tunnels on Jammu Border.
He complimented the BSF for shooting down a Hexacopter, coming from across the border, carrying Arms and Ammunition in Samba Border.
