Srinagar, Jul 16: A partially operational branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank at Zainakote was gutted in a midnight blaze on Friday.
Witnesses said that the fire broke out in the first floor of the complex, where the Branch of J&K Bank Zainakote is partially operational.
Another witness, who owns a shop in the complex said, the fire has damaged the entire floor of J&K Bank.
However, an official from the bank said that the records are safe and intact.
“We want to assure our clients that all the records are safe, however some of the older records have got damaged, which the bank ideally discards after sometime,” he said.
Moreover, there was no report of any loss of life or injury in the incident, officials said.
Notably, J&K Bank branch Zainakote has shifted most of its operations from this Branch to another location in the area in Industrial area of HMT Zainakote, however, some of the operations were still active in the branch. (KNO)
