Coronavirus: 6 fatalities, 88 new cases in JK

Srinagar, Jul 20: Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday witnessed six deaths due to Covid-19 pandemic while as the UT recorded lowest ever 88 positive cases on Tuesday taking the total number of active positive cases to 1634.
With six more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached 4,371 and 88 fresh positive cases reported on Tuesday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 320,112.
Of the exact number of 320,112 cases, 198,792 are from Kashmir division and 121,320 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 88 new cases, 53 belong to Kashmir division while as 35 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 198,792 including 195,615 recoveries and 2,234 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 121,320 including 118,492 recoveries and 2,137 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,634 including 943 from Kashmir division and 691 from Jammu division.
With 221 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 320,112 which is 98.13 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 16 from Srinagar, 10 from Baramulla, 05 from Budgam, 00 from Pulwama, 06 from Kupwara, 07 from Anantnag, 05 from Bandipora, 04 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 35 from Jammu division include 11 from Jammu, 05 from Udhampur, 04 from Rajouri, 06 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 02 from Kishtwar, 04 from Poonch, 02 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
“Sixteen number of positive cases in Srinagar today doesn’t mark the end of the pandemic. Let’s not stop Worrying, Wondering and Doubting the idiosyncrasies of the Virus. Extraordinary commitment to CAB(Covid Appropriate Behaviour) required to thwart the third wave staring at us,” DC Srinagar tweeted.
Meanwhile, authorities on Tuesday said that one fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally stands at 35.
Out of 06 deaths reported today, 02 died at GMC Jammu, 01 at DH Udhampur, 01 at CH Udhampur, 01 at GMC Doda & 01 at Chest Disease Hospital, Srinagar.
As per officials figures, 70,993 positive cases including 832 deaths and 69,797 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,500 including 281 deaths and 23,117 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,814 including 22,526 recoveries and 204 deaths are from Budgam, 15,114 including 14,840 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,015 including 165 deaths and 13,792 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,290 including 16,001 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,445 cases including 9,278 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,828 including 9,685 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,217 including 11,069 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,576 including 5,510 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 52,681 including 51,336 recoveries and 1,139 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,264 including 11,097 recoveries and 135 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,870 including 10,571 recoveries and 224 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,152 including 6,896 recoveries and 124 deaths are from Doda, 9,254 including 9,091 recoveries and 150 deaths are from Kathua, 7,118 including 6,963 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Samba, 4,602 including 4,509 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,236 including 6,082 recoveries and 94 deaths are from Poonch, 5,944 including 5,832 recoveries and 66 deaths are from Ramban and 6,199 including 6,115 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,676,379 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 9,380 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,634 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 2,340,023 persons have completed the surveillance period and 320,971 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 11,137,883 samples are available. Out of 10,137,883 the number of samples tested negative stands at 10,817,771 while as 320,112 have tested positive, among them 1,634 persons are active, 320,112 persons have recovered and 4,371 persons have died.
