ED summons Mehbooba’s mother in money laundering case

Srinagar, Aug 6: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has once again summoned Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti’s mother and former J&K Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s wife Gulshan Nazir to join investigation in a money-laundering case in New Delhi.
As per the notice, Gulshan Nazir has been asked to appear before the ED at its New Delhi office at on August 18.
In the summon notice, Assistant Director (ED) Sunil Kumar Meena said he is making an investigation under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. “I consider the attendance of Gulshan Nazir necessary in connection with the said investigation.”
However, the notice did not provide any further details of the case and how Gulshan Nazir is linked to it.
Last month, ED had summoned Gulshan Nazir at its Srinagar based office. (KNT)
