Coronavirus: JK reports one death, 83 new cases

Srinagar, Aug 17: Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday witnessed one death and 83 fresh positive cases taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,158.
With one more death, the death toll in the UT has reached 4,399 and 83 fresh positive cases have pushed the tally of positive cases to 323,582.
Of the exact number of 323,582 cases, 200,998 are from Kashmir division and 122,584 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 83 new cases, 45 belong to Kashmir division while as 38 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 200,998 including 198,073 recoveries and 2,240 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 122,584 including 119,952 recoveries and 2,159 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,158 including 685 from Kashmir division and 473 from Jammu division.
With 153 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 318,025 which is 98.28 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 17 from Srinagar, 05 from Baramulla, 03 from Budgam, 04 from Pulwama, 04 from Kupwara, 02 from Anantnag, 04 from Bandipora, 03 from Ganderbal, 03 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 38 from Jammu division include 09 from Jammu, 00 from Udhampur, 08 from Rajouri, 07 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 05 from Kishtwar, 05 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 03 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities on Tuesday said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally stands at 42.
As per officials figures, 71,853 positive cases including 834 deaths and 70,761 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,775 including 282 deaths and 23,411 recoveries are from Baramulla, 23,034 including 22,755 recoveries and 206 deaths are from Budgam, 15,267 including 15,034 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,160 including 166 deaths and 13,956 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,378 including 16,135 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,566 cases including 9,412 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,034 including 9,895 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,340 including 11,187 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,591 including 5,527 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 52,924 including 51,664 recoveries and 1,142 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,369 including 11,201 recoveries and 137 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,041 including 10,750 recoveries and 229 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,426 including 7,222 recoveries and 129 deaths are from Doda, 9,274 including 9,116 recoveries and 151 deaths are from Kathua, 7,131 including 7,002 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,714 including 4,628 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,296 including 6,170 recoveries and 97 deaths are from Poonch, 5,981 including 5,909 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 6,428 including 6,290 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 3,074,240 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 9,375 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,158 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 2,657,026 persons have completed the surveillance period and 402,282 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 12,659,292 samples are available. Out of 12,659,292 the number of samples tested negative stands at 12,335,710 while as 323,582 have tested positive, among them 1,158 persons are active, 318,025 persons have recovered and 4,399 persons have died.
