Srinagar, Jun 28: To ensure potable water arrangements are put in place for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY 2025) pilgrims, Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana Saturday paid a visit to Yatra Base Camp, Pantha Chowk and reviewed the arrangements there.
MLA Skeikh Ahsan Ahmed (Pardesi), Chief Engineer PHE Kashmir, Mohammad Taj Chowdhary and other officers accompanied the minister during his visit.
Javed Rana emphasised on large-scale arrangement for clean and pure drinking water to the pilgrims coming from across the country and abroad.
Rana directed for ensuring close coordination among departments to ensure all the arrangements for water supply are put in place well in advance before the commencement of the yatra.
At the base camp, he meticulously inspected the arrangements for water to the pilgrims and emphasised upon the officers to ensure that clean and pure drinking water remains available to the pilgrims round the clock.
The minister was briefed about the water arrangements at the base camp Panthachowk and other points.
Officials of PHE present on the occasion said that all the arrangements have been put in place at all points to ensure pilgrims have a memorable stay.
Rana was briefed on the water arrangements at the base camp and other points, including the installation of 400 toilet/bathroom points, 20 water tap connections and 2 water testing kits.
Javed Rana called upon the concerned to regularly check water quality based on different parameters emphasizing the importance of ensuring safe drinking water.
The Minister also reviewed the arrangements made by the PHE divisions in Qazigund, Bijbehara, and Ganderbal with respect to drinking water facilities.
Rana further highlighted the significance of ensuing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and stated that it symbolizes harmony, inclusiveness, love, brotherhood and shared humanity.
He said that Kashmir is known worldwide for its hospitality and is fully prepared to support the smooth and peaceful conduct of the Yatra to ensure pilgrims have a comfortable stay in the Valley.
