Dir Tourism holds webinar meeting with Gujarat, Maharashtra tour operators

Srinagar, Aug 24: Director, Tourism, Kashmir, Dr. G N Itoo Tuesday held an interactive session with the tour and travel fraternity of Gujarat and Maharashtra through Webinar.
During the interaction, Dr Itoo gave a summary of the efforts made by the Department for the revival and sustenance of the tourism sector and stakeholders in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. He said that the Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir is working together with stakeholders to ensure that tourists arriving to Kashmir Valley have a comfortable stay.
The Director Tourism also apprised the meeting about the measures put in place including those related to COVID to ensure that all tourists visiting J&K have a comfortable and a memorable stay. In response to some queries raised during the webinar, Dr Itoo assured Maharashtra Tour Operators Association(MTOA) of prompt resolution.
He said the effective COVID-19 management by UT administration was the biggest confidence building measure for the tourists to visit Kashmir. He said almost entire tourism stakeholders have been vaccinated which is set to infuse confidence among the visitors.
The webinar meeting was attended by Rajen Parekh, Treasurer, MTOA, Abhijeet Patil (J&K Coordinator-MTOA), Ajay Prakash, President TAFI, Jay Bhatia, (VP TAAI), Jitendra Kejriwal (Chairman – Maharashtra Chapter-IATO), Dharmendra Singh (President – Maharashtra Chapter-ADTOI), Mark Fernandis, Consultant, Goa Tourism. Tour operators from Nasik, Nagpur and Pune also attended the meeting.
Officers from the Directorate of Tourism also attended the meeting.
