Srinagar, Sep 1: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan Wednesday held a public interaction camp at Hazratbal here and listened to the issues and concerns voiced by the general public of the area.
During the programme, a large number of locals interacted with the Advisor and apprised him about various issues and concerns pertaining to their area.
While addressing the gathering, Advisor Baseer Khan said that the present administration is bridging the gap between people and government and this kind of interaction programme is among the steps in that direction.
During the interaction, Advisor Khan highlighted that the LG Administration has initiated several measures for the benefit of common masses. He highlighted various achievements on various fronts and mentioned about various centrally sponsored schemes which have benefited poor and common people.
During the interaction programme, Fallah Behbood Committee, Hazratbal presented a memorandum before the Advisor highlighting various issues and concerns of the area.
They demanded Public Health Centre with 10 to 20 bed facility and specialized Gynecology and Pediatric sections in the erstwhile hospital which has now been shifted. Since the building is closer to Hazratbal shrine which is visited by thousands of people, it requires to be converted into a trauma centre and be provided with medical emergency facilities with other medical facilities to cater to the area.
They also demanded macadamization of all the interior roads and lanes in the area although while mentioning that substantial part of the roads have been macadamized and the work on left out roads and lanes need to be taken up on priority.
The Committee members also apprised the Advisor about the damaged water pipeline in the area and requested for providing fresh pipeline to the area.
The members also raised the issue of lack of playground for the youngsters in the area.
While responding to the demands of the people, the Advisor maintained that the Lieutenant Governor led administration is always available to listen to the issues of the people and is committed to provide best amenities to the common people at their doorsteps.
Advisor Baseer Khan assured the locals that all of their genuine issues and concerns will be resolved on priority while some issues were taken up with the concerned quarters on spot.
