Coronavirus: JK reports one death, 148 new cases

Srinagar, Sep 23: Jammu and Kashmir Friday witnessed one death and 148 fresh positive cases taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,605.
With one more death, the death toll in the UT stands at 4,420 and 148 fresh positive cases reported on Friday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 328,738.
Of the exact number of 328,738 cases, 205,129 are from Kashmir division and 123,609 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 148 new cases, 120 belong to Kashmir division while as 28 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 205,129 including 201,529 recoveries and 2,248 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 123,609 including 121,184 recoveries and 2,172 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,605 including 1,352 from Kashmir division and 253 from Jammu division.
With 159 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 322,713 which is 98.17 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 66 from Srinagar, 17 from Baramulla, 08 from Budgam, 05 from Pulwama, 06 from Kupwara, 05 from Anantnag, 02 from Bandipora, 09 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 21 from Jammu division include 06 from Jammu, 00 from Udhampur, 06 from Rajouri, 10 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 02 from Ramban and 04 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities on Friday said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally stands at 46.
One Covid death reported at DRDO hospital Srinagar.
As per officials figures, 73,972 positive cases including 838 deaths and 72,352 recoveries are from Srinagar, 24,254 including 282 deaths and 23,803 recoveries are from Baramulla, 23,531 including 23,161 recoveries and 207 deaths are from Budgam, 15,441 including 15,205 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,337 including 166 deaths and 14,139 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,511 including 16,283 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,717 cases including 9,586 and 102 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,284 including 10,476 recoveries and 79 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,476 including 11,338 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,606 including 5,544 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 53,135 including 51,935 recoveries and 1,143 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,397 including 11,251 recoveries and 137 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,160 including 10,902 recoveries and 237 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,743 including 7,545 recoveries and 133 deaths are from Doda, 9,290 including 9,137 recoveries and 151 deaths are from Kathua, 7,146 including 7,019 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,810 including 4,755 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,344 including 6,243 recoveries and 97 deaths are from Poonch, 6,017 including 5,940 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 6,567 including 6,457 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 3,499,831 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,442 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,605 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 3,024,519 persons have completed the surveillance period and 461,845 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 14,566,269 samples are available. Out of 14,566,269 the number of samples tested negative stands at 14,237,506 while as 328,763 have tested positive, among them 1,605 persons are active, 322,713 persons have recovered and 4,420 persons have died.
