Kupwara, Oct 1: J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir concluded two day’s tour of Machil Kupwara, expressing dismay over the problems confronting people on account of developmental, employment and other issues.
JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Friday addressed workers convention at Kupwara and reviewed the organizational affairs and activities in the District and also received feedback with regard to developmental and other issues confronting people in Kupwara and other areas of the district.
JKPCC Vice President Haji Abdul Rashid Dr, Gulzar Ahmad Wani (Former Legislators) DCC Presidents Imtiyaz Parray, Umer Jaan, Congress Leaders Muneer Ahmad Mir, Nazir Ahmad Lone, Irshad Ahmad Ganie, Sheikh Amir, Deen Mohd Cheeta and various other leaders of Kupwara District were present on this occasion and addressed the convention.
Speaking on the occasion Ghulam Ahmad Mir lashed out at the Govt for failing to address developmental and other local issues concerning people in the district especially in backward and far flung areas not only in Kupwara, but in the entire Jammu and Kashmir and asked the Centre Govt to explain as to what the people of J&K have achieved after August 5, 2019.
Mir also asked the BJP government as to when it will restore full statehood to J&K and hold assembly elections and questioned the dilly-dallying tactics on this count by the Centre government?
He said people of J&K have been abandoned of their just rights by the BJP government for the sake of fulfilling its political agenda, even the democratic rights were not being restored in J&K, aiming to rule it (J&K)directly from the Centre, which will continue to remain source behind anger and anguish amongst the people, who feel betrayed and cheated.
He said during his tour to Machil on Thursday, he (Mir) felt disappointed to observe that this backward area was most neglected on all fronts, even the people there were not able to live hand to mouth due to poverty and unemployment and contested the government claim that they (people) were happy, which was absolutely a white lie and politics of deception on the part of BJP in order to divert attention from its failures.
“I am anguished to observe that there were lot of hardships confronting people in absence of the popular government, lack of development, poor supply of electricity, road connectivity, unemployment, poverty and various other issue,” Mir added and asked the government to come out of the deep slumber and address the grievances of people in backward and other flung areas rather than making tall promises.
JKPCC President assured the people that Congress Party won’t remain silent on people issues, it will continue to fight against the discrimination and failed policies of the Government.
