The fire incident is literally making people poor from the rich as everything a family possesses is getting devastated in a jiffy. In Jammu and Kashmir, the reports about the blaze are being reported on almost every day where the people suffer losses worth crores of rupees. However, the government has been providing assistance to those who are getting affected due to the blaze. But, one fails to understand why the concerned department as well as the government has so far failed to ensure adequate numbers of stations of Fire and Emergency Services. The existing number of fire and emergency service stations especially in the far-flung areas in the Valley have left thousands of people to lurch at large as there are only few stations available, which are covering many areas including those which are very far from the stations. One wonders how these officials can bring the flames under control on time at a time when they have to cover a huge area to reach the spot. There are a number of instances where the fire tenders failed to reach the spot on time due to the long distance in between the station and the spot. Such a situation has added to the miseries of people and due to which the locals have suffered immense losses so far. Therefore, the government should take steps to ensure the adequate number of stations of Fire and Emergency Services are made available for the people especially in the far-flung areas, which would lessen the burden of the people and ensure less loss to them during any unfortunate incident of blaze in their area.
