The public has been left high and dry across the Valley since the unprecedented hike in petrol and diesel in Jammu and Kashmir. The commuters have been finding it tough to use their vehicles all the time due to the hike in fuel. However, after preferring the public transport, the common passengers are being pushed to the wall as they are being asked to pay hefty amount as transport fare, which goes unchecked for a long time. The public transporters, especially auto-rickshaw drivers are looting the public in the name of rising fuel rates and have been asking the passenger to pay a hefty amount, which leaves them to lurch at large. At a time when the fuel prices have increased, the concerned department is acting as mute spectator with regard to the transport fare. One fails to understand why the violators are being taken to the task for the wellbeing of the common people. The public transporters must not be allowed to loot the general public and the concerned department should come up with teams to look into the matter and ensure that the common people are not forced to face hardships. The sufferings of people must not mount any further and action must be taken against them at an earliest so that the people could heave a sigh of relief. It is the time when the government should take steps to prevent the transporters from fleecing the common passengers.
End to paucity need of the hour
Just a few hours of electricity is being supplied to the people a day after the government has clearly mentioned...
