In the past several decades, what has failed to change in Jammu and Kashmir is the electricity supply as the government has failed to provide adequate electricity supply to the consumers here in the Valley during the winter season. The electricity always plays hide and seek during winters in the Valley, but this time, the situation is being witnessed in the mid of the autumn season, which is putting a question mark over the tall claims of the government with regard to ensuring better development to the people. One fails to understand why there is no end to the power paucity in the Valley during the winter even after the government claimed to have upgraded the power infrastructure in Kashmir from the last couple of years. Several grid stations and other things have come up in the Valley in the last three years, but still the people here continue to reel under darkness. Such is the height that the residents living in Srinagar City areas like Habba Kadal and its adjacent areas were forced to reel under darkness from last evening till Tuesday morning, thus leaving the inhabitants to lurch at large. The government in order to ensure adequate electricity to the consumers should upgrade the infrastructure further at earliest so that the situation in the upcoming winter season could change on the ground and the people in the Valley could heave a sigh of relief. Besides, the repairing work should be completed as soon as possible so that the electricity could not get affected in the harsh winter conditions and the people could heave a sigh of relief.
