Anantnag, Oct 30: The Member Parliament, Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency, Justice (Retd.) Hasnain Masoodi, Saturday chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committees (DISHA) meeting at Dak Bungalow, Khanabal, here.
Addressing officers of district administration, Masoodi said that the aim of DISHA meeting is to identify any impediments in implementation of welfare schemes so that effective solutions can be worked out. He observed that the aim of welfare schemes is not only dissemination of benefits but that such benefits reach the genuine beneficiaries in a time bound manner.
He observed that unnecessary delays in processing must be avoided and any laxity on this part will not be tolerated. He said such meetings will only bear fruit when perceptible change is observed on ground.
ACD Anantnag presented the status of flagship scheme MGNREGA and it was informed that 20.18 lakh person days have been generated under the scheme engaging 69,555 job card holders, besides 5,983 works have been taken up under the scheme.
The chair, while appreciating the department for timely payment of wages, laid stress on expediting the clearance of material bills.
DPO apprised the attendees that 100 percent sanctioned IHHL units have been physically completed. A total of 41,847 units have been established in the district and financial liability on account of these units is being cleared, he added.
President MC Anantnag informed the chair that under 14th FC, DPR for Solid Waste Management Unit has been prepared and the same has been tendered. Dustbins have been distributed and collection vehicles are also engaged for door to door collection of wastes.
LDM informed the chair that they have sanctioned 705 PMEGP cases.
Masoodi stressed on the importance of banks in ensuring free flow of credit to ensure effective financing of development activities. He laid emphasis on the role of banks in facilitating urban development, particularly in the housing sector.
Reviewing road connectivity, the MP was informed that 265 kms and 160 kms have been macadamized by R&B and PMGSY respectively. Nearly 98 percent of the targeted macadamization has already been completed this year. Ex. Engineer PMGSY informed the chair that they have successfully connected 155 habitations under the scheme.
The chair observed that water supply issues have started cropping up in various habitations. He directed the Jal Shakti department to expedite the process of laying of pipes under JJM and AMRUT so that every household has a tap water connection.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Piyush Singla informed the chair that the district is on the path to meet the project deadline for providing tap water to all households.
The MP also directed officials from Irrigation department to streamline bottlenecks in supply of water to agricultural fields and develop necessary infrastructure in this regard.
He took stock of the progress on replacement of barbed wires for supply of electricity to remote habitations. He was informed that tenders have been floated and by February, 2022 all barbed wires will be replaced. He also reviewed the status of electricity supply to hospitals in the district and directed officials to ensure minimal disruption in power supply to these important facilities.
Health department, presenting their achievements on registration of citizens under PM SEHAT, apprised the chair that 1.54 lac families have been covered under the scheme. The chair directed the officials from the health department to expedite the registration process so that every citizen can avail the benefits under the scheme.
The meeting was attended by DDC Chairman, MY Gorsi, ADDC, CPO, CMO, ACD, ACP and other officials of District Admin.
