Srinagar, Nov 3: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday trapped and arrested Patwari Halqa Hari Ganwan Gund Ganderbal, Showkat Ahmad Lone for accepting bribe for issuance of documents pertaining to inheritance.
A spokesman in a statement said that ACB received a complaint that Showkat Ahmad Lone, Patwari, Halqa Hari Ganwan, Gund, Ganderbal is demanding Rs 2000 as bribe for affecting the Inheritance Mutation (Warasati Intiqal) of land in favour of the complainant.
“On receipt of the complaint, a case FIR number 33/2021 under section 7 PC Act 1988 was registered in Police Station ACB Srinagar and investigation taken up,” he said, adding that during the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted.
“The trap team laid a successful trap and caught red-handed Showkat Ahmad Lone, Patwari Halqa Hari Ganwan Gund, Ganderbal while demanding and accepting the bribe money from the complainant. He was arrested and taken into custody by ACB Team,” the statement said, adding that further investigation into the case is going on.
