Omar invites global filmmakers to explore J&K’s stories, culture

Jammu, Nov 10: In a major decision underscoring government’s sensitivity towards the issues of Youths and its commitment to fulfill their aspirations, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha Wednesday announced onetime age-relaxation for thousands of Sub-Inspector aspirants preparing for recruitment in the Jammu & Kashmir Police.
The decision was taken by the Lt Governor after taking cognizance of a host of representations pouring in through print and electronic media, besides the issue being raised by several delegations during their interactions with the Lt Governor.
The Lt Governor not only ordered the increase of Upper age limit from 28 to 30 years for the aspirants but also enhanced the number of UT Cadre posts from 800 to 1200.
Pertinently, earlier this year, the Lt Governor had ordered the one-time relaxation in upper age limit for Jammu Kashmir Combined Competitive Exam, giving much needed relief to thousands of young aspirants competing to be part of JK Administrative Services.
The step is yet another landmark decision taken by the UT government to fulfill the demands and aspirations of the people of J&K, especially the youth, who are the focal point of J&K’s developmental agenda.
