Srinagar, Nov 24: The unavailability of public transport in evening hours has caused hardships to the people in several areas from Kenihama, Kanipora ,Nowgam and adjoining areas
Many commuters, mostly office-goers and students, were seen stranded at the sumo stand at LD Srinagar and searching for sumo in cold winters during evening hours.
Locals said that the people from different areas like Kanihama, Kanipora, Pharu and other areas are facing immense problems due to the lack of public transport service in the evening hours.
Locals said that they have been arriving home late due to unavailability of transport.
“Public transport disappears here after the evening hours, causing trouble for the people. The administration must look into this issue because not everyone has their own car or any private transport. If the government can provide their transport that can be a breather for people living in these areas,” Muddasir Aaalm, a commuter said.
Basharat Ahmed, another student, said that public transport is not often available in the evening hours and he has seen how anxious people are here during that time.
Meanwhile, the commuters appealed to the higher authorities to look into the matter so that they could heave a sigh of relief.
