Baramulla, Dec 11: Tawheed Javid Dar, a class 10th student of Greenland Public School bagged 1st Position in Art, painting Category at UT level in Kala Utsav a Nation Wide initiative. He will now represent J&K at National level.
He said, “I’m excited because I had regular studies to balance along with my creative pursuit.”
Kala Utsav is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE) under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, to promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students at the secondary stage in the country.
The importance of aesthetics and artistic experiences for secondary-level students, which play a major role in creating awareness of our rich cultural heritage and its vibrant diversity.
Thus Kala Utsav is a process of identifying artistic talents in school education is yet to be developed.
Our students need to be encouraged to think critically and venture into other fields of excellence besides academic courses.
His success is a pat on the back of his mentors at School. The Principal Greenland Public School and the staff congratulated him for this achievement. Moreover, Department of Education, Chief Education Officer, Cultural Coordinators need a special mention as the team screened, organised, coordinated the whole exercise diligently.
