Coronavirus: 1 patient dies, 137 new cases in JK

Srinagar, Dec 24: Jammu and Kashmir Friday reported one more death and 137 fresh positive cases of COVID-19, thus taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,317.
With one more death, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,519 and 137 fresh positive cases reported on Friday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 340,434.
Of the exact number of 340,434 cases, 214,463 are from Kashmir division and 125,971 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 137 new cases, 117 belong to Kashmir division while as 20 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 214,463 including 211,048 recoveries and 2,323 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 125,971 including 123,437 recoveries and 2,196 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,317 including 979 from Kashmir division and 338 from Jammu division.
With 142 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 334,598 which is 98.28 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 58 from Srinagar, 07 from Baramulla, 08 from Budgam, 06 from Pulwama, 10 from Kupwara, 09 from Anantnag, 08 from Bandipora, 10 from Ganderbal, 01 each from Kulgam amd Shopian in Kashmir division while as 14 from Jammu, 0 from Udhampur, 01 from Rajouri, 05 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 01 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 01 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 50.
As per officials figures, 78,508 positive cases including 880 deaths and 77,159 recoveries are from Srinagar, 25,886 including 290 deaths and 25,435 recoveries are from Baramulla, 24,445 including 24,181 recoveries and 215 deaths are from Budgam, 15,697 including 15,470 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,940 including 167 deaths and 14,702 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,730 including 16,500 recoveries and 208 deaths are from Anantnag, 10,153 cases including 9,979 and 111 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,944 including 10,767 recoveries and 81 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,543 including 11,411 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,617 including 5,557 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 54,062 including 52,688 recoveries and 1,156 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,465 including 11,317 recoveries and 138 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,371 including 11,115 recoveries and 239 deaths are from Rajouri, 8,020 including 7,851 recoveries and 136 deaths are from Doda, 9,380 including 9,219 recoveries and 153 deaths are from Kathua, 7,174 including 7,051 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,848 including 4,798 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,585 including 6,467 recoveries and 100 deaths are from Poonch, 6,069 including 5,998 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 6,997 including 6,933 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 5,076,050 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 8,100 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,317 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 4,629,727 persons have completed the surveillance period and 433,387 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 18,918,623 samples are available. Out of 18,918,623 the number of samples tested negative stands at 18,578,189 while as 340,434 have tested positive, among them 1,317 persons are active, 334,598 persons have recovered and 4,519 persons have died.
