Omicron Threat: Super ready to tickle any situation, says Govt

Srinagar, Jan 1: Amid increasing cases of Omicron in different parts of India, the J&K government on Saturday said that they are ready to tackle any situation as this time they are ready in advance unlike first and second wave.
Top health officials of J&K said that unlike first and second wave of Covid-19, government is super ready to tackle any situation.
This time we have oxygen supported beds in thousands which earlier were just in few hundreds besides that there is oxygen plants now in every major, district and some sub hospital now, they said.
“Government won’t lower the guard in fight against the Covid-19, however, public cooperation is must and should continue to follow Covid appropriate behaviour,” the official said.
A top official of health and medical education said that in last six months the number of isolation beds in J&K have been increased from 8,000 to 20,000.
He said in May 2021, there were 8820 isolation beds in J&K which have been increased to 19,783 now. “Number of ICU beds in J&K have been also increased 382 to 717 now and number of ventilators have been also increased from 757 to 1320,” he said.
Moreover, the number of oxygen supported beds in Jammu and Kashmir have increased from 3,987 to 5,468 .
It is pertinent to mention here that three cases of omicron have been reported in J&K so far who have already recovered besides that there are around 1300 active cases of Covid-19 in J&K.
