Srinagar Admin intensifies CAB enforcement

Strict adherence to SOPs imperative to counter third COVID-19 wave: DC

Srinagar, Dec 10: On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, the District Administration Srinagar Monday conducted a massive Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) enforcement drive to ensure that there is no violation of Covid guidelines to protect the people from the possible 3rd wave of deadly Corona virus.
In wake of recent surge in Covid-19 positive cases, the special CAB enforcement teams headed by respective Tehsildars of the Srinagar under the supervision of Sub Divisional Magistrate West, Akshay Labroo and Sub Divisional Magistrate East, Owais Mushtaq conducted surprise checks across the City to ensure implementation of all the guidelines issued by State Executive Committee (SEC) and District Disaster Management.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner, who is also the Chairman District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Srinagar has appealed to general public, traders and transporters to cooperate with District Disaster Management Authority Srinagar and strictly follow Covid-19 SOPs, guidelines and precautions to control the Covid-19 infection.
He urged people to visit nearest vaccination centers and get vaccinated at an earliest to defeat any possibility of Omicron, a new Covid-19 variant.
The DC directed the concerned officers to monitor adherence to SOPs by service providers and called for strict legal action against the violators of Covid SOPs.
The DC has cautioned the people to remain careful in future regarding wearing of Masks besides adopting Covid-19 Appropriate Behavior to avoid contracting virus. He said strict adherence to SoPs is imperative to counter any possible third wave of COVID-19 and protect all fellow citizens from the deadly disease.
Meanwhile, the District Administration is also making announcements regarding CAB and other Covid-19 related precautions through PAS mounted vehicles in Srinagar.
