Srinagar, Jan 17: Jammu and Kashmir Monday reported five deaths and yet another big spike of 2,827 fresh positive cases of COVID-19, taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 17,928.
With five more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,572 and 2,827 fresh positive cases reported on Monday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 362,220.
Of the exact number of 362,220 cases, 226,984 are from Kashmir division and 135,216 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 2,827 new cases, 1,734 belong to Kashmir division while as 1,093 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 226,984 including 213,895 recoveries and 2,346 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 135,216 including 125,805 recoveries and 2,226 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 17,928 including 10,743 from Kashmir division and 7,185 from Jammu division.
With 777 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 339,700 which is 93.79 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 618 from Srinagar, 315 from Baramulla, 295 from Budgam, 56 from Pulwama, 139 from Kupwara, 168 from Anantnag, 52 from Bandipora, 22 from Ganderbal, 57 from Kulgam and 12 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 1,093 from Jammu division include 711 from Jammu division, 122 from Udhampur, 42 from Rajouri, 20 from Doda, 30 from Kathua, 52 from Samba, 07 from Kishtwar, 32 from Poonch, 42 from Ramban and 35 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.
As per officials figures, 83,013 positive cases including 886 deaths and 78,250 recoveries are from Srinagar, 28,627 including 292 deaths and 25,821 recoveries are from Baramulla, 26,322 including 24,573 recoveries and 222 deaths are from Budgam, 16,094 including 15,608 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Pulwama, 15,699 including 170 deaths and 14,949 recoveries are from Kupwara, 17,604 including 16,563 recoveries and 211 deaths are from Anantnag, 10,761 cases including 10,111 and 111 deaths are from Bandipora, 11,175 including 10,972 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Ganderbal, 12,032 including 11,487 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,657 including 5,561 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 59,280 including 53,818 recoveries and 1,173 deaths are from Jammu district, 12,290 including 11,461 recoveries and 142 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,717 including 11,203 recoveries and 240 deaths are from Rajouri, 8,253 including 7,946 recoveries and 138 deaths are from Doda, 10,037 including 9,408 recoveries and 156 deaths are from Kathua, 7,602 including 7,117 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 5,004 including 4,843 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,982 including 6,594 recoveries and 102 deaths are from Poonch, 6,215 including 6,070 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 7,836 including 7,345 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 5,530,124 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 8,847 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 17,928 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 5,067,822 persons have completed the surveillance period and 430,955 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 20,360,232 samples are available. Out of 20,360,232 the number of samples tested negative stands at 19,980,032 while as 362,200 have tested positive, among them 17,928 persons are active, 339,700 persons have recovered and 4,572 persons have died.
