Srinagar, Jan 24: Jammu and Kashmir on Monday reported eight deaths and another big spike of 5,394 cases pushing the number of active cases to 44,609 in the UT.
With eight more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,613 and 5,394 fresh positive cases reported on Monday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 402,596.
Of the exact number of 402,596 cases, 254,596 are from Kashmir division and 147,998 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 5,394 new cases, 3,349 belong to Kashmir division while as 2,045 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 254,598 including 221,171 recoveries and 2,360 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 147,998 including 132,203 recoveries and 2,253 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 44,609 including 31,067 from Kashmir division and 13,542 from Jammu division.
With 3,643 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 353,373 which is 87.77 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 963 from Srinagar, 514 from Baramulla, 574 from Budgam, 188 from Pulwama, 267 from Kupwara, 229 from Anantnag, 252 from Bandipora, 51 from Ganderbal, 276 from Kulgam and 35 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 2,045 from Jammu division include 1,204 from Jammu district, 234 from Udhampur, 40 from Rajouri, 187 from Doda, 34 from Kathua, 71 from Samba, 40 from Kishtwar, 15 from Poonch, 121 from Ramban and 99 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.
As per officials figures, 92,393 positive cases including 890 deaths and 79,876 recoveries are from Srinagar, 33,391 including 294 deaths and 27,077 recoveries are from Baramulla, 30,320 including 26,510 recoveries and 225 deaths are from Budgam, 17,283 including 15,899 recoveries and 198 deaths are from Pulwama, 17,277 including 171 deaths and 15,730 recoveries are from Kupwara, 19,620 including 16,872 recoveries and 212 deaths are from Anantnag, 12,439 cases including 10,637 and 111 deaths are from Bandipora, 12,416 including 11,069 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Ganderbal, 13,541 including 11,914 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,918 including 5,587 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 67,368 including 57,392 recoveries and 1,187 deaths are from Jammu district, 13,305 including 12,100 recoveries and 143 deaths are from Udhampur, 12,142 including 11,455 recoveries and 243 deaths are from Rajouri, 8,987 including 8,031 recoveries and 139 deaths are from Doda, 10,573 including 9,889 recoveries and 158 deaths are from Kathua, 8,194 including 7,591 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 5,195 including 4,966 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Kishtwar, 7,212 including 6,798 recoveries and 104 deaths are from Poonch, 6,743 including 6,189 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Ramban and 8,279 including 7,792 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 5,639,244 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 10,654 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 44,609 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 5,151,659 persons have completed the surveillance period and 427,709 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 20,905,308 samples are available. Out of 20,905,308 the number of samples tested negative stands at 20,502,712 while as 402,596 have tested positive, among them 44,609 persons are active, 353,374 persons have recovered and 4,613 persons have died.
