The administration has to stress on the implementation of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) in Jammu and Kashmir and ensure its strict adherence as the Covid-19 cases are witnessing no end, increasing the number of active positive cases at a rapid pace. The health experts here believe that most of the people being tested positive for Covid-19 are getting infected due to the new variant, Omicron, which has been spreading faster than Delta and others. Although the Omicron is being considered as mild then the previous variants, but its spread has created chaos among the people with doctors stating that every third person in the Valley is positive and most of them asymptomatic. The only measure that can be taken on the ground to prevent the virus from spreading is to ensure strict enforcement of the Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB). In this regard, the health department has held a meeting with the transporters, asking them to ensure the safety of passengers. The transporters have been directed to follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) in letter and spirit and avoid overloading of vehicles at any cost so that the public is not put at risk. They believe that the regulation of public transport is possible only with due cooperation of transporters. Therefore, the people must obey the guidelines and ensure that the lives of others are not put at the risk.
