The decision of doing away with the government jobs to the Next of Kins of those employees who lost their lives has come as an utter shock as the one time compensation would never help the victim families to run their family affairs. The government under SRO-43 provided jobs to Next of Kins to the deceased employees, but the new decision taken by the administration would leave the families of the deceased government employees to lurch at large. The employees in most of the cases are sole bread earners of their respective families and the fresh decision would certainly leave their families to lurch if god forbid, they face any untoward incident. However, an announcement has been made, stating that one time compensation will be given to the victim families. Nonetheless, the onetime compensation may help the victim families to run their family affairs for some months or years, but it would certainly push them towards starvation after the amount will be spent by them as there would be no one within their families to earn the bread and butter for them. One fails to understand which cause it would serve. The million dollar question remains who is going to ensure bread and butter to the families of deceased government employees if they lose their bread earner. There is a need to understand the intensity of the situation and the government should consider revoking its decision so that the victim families could heave a sigh of relief.
