DC Budgam calls for holding massive youth engagement, outreach initiatives

Budgam, Feb 9: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza Wednesday called for holding massive youth engagement and outreach programmes across the district.
The DC said this while chairing a meeting to review the involvement of youth clubs in government sponsored youth engagement and outreach initiatives.
At the outset, the DC instructed concerned to devise a proper youth engagement programmes and activities for active and efficient youth involvement in employment generation programmes, mission youth initiatives and career counseling.
He said that a series of youth related programmes and activities shall begin from February-14 and culminate on 21st March when more than 1 lac trees shall be planted across the district.
The DC said that the initiatives shall also include awareness regarding on spot registration under Mission Youth, employment generation initiatives, drug abuse de-addiction, special sessions regarding crimes against women and safeguards, development programmes, social auditing and sectoral employability potential assessment.
He said the programmes shall also include various other psycho, social counseling, socio economic development and employment generation initiatives.
Stressing on effective involvement of youth, the DC further directed concerned SDMs to hold meetings with the youth for successful conduct of youth volunteer programmes.
Later, the DC also reviewed the progress of Mission Youth schemes including Tejaswani and SAHAYTA schemes in the district.
The meeting among others was attended by ADDC, ADC, GM DIC, JD Planning, ACD, ACR, SDMs, DSEO, DSWO and A.D Employment.
