Kulgam, Feb 9: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Wednesday chaired a meeting of officers and members of various trekking groups to review and finalize the arrangements for the upcoming Winter Carnival.
During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held about the routes, spots and areas where these activities shall be held within the set and foolproof devised activity plan.
The DC directed the officers to put in place all requisite arrangements at all places where these winter activities will be carried out.
The meeting discussed in detail the trekking routes and finalized requisite arrangements to make these trekking expeditions smooth and safe.
It was informed that Trekking expeditions to unexplored scenic places like Chiranbal, Yadipathri, Panchanpathri, Nuspathri, Kongwatan and other unexplored areas will be carried out besides multifarious winter sports activities adventure camps will be main attraction to this event which will commence in coming week.
The DYS&SO Kulgam informed the chair about the sports activities to be conducted at Aharabal during this winter carnival.
He added that multiple snow games including Snow Rugby, Snow Cricket, Snow Runs, Kho Kho, Tug of War etc will be held during this winter event.
The initiative has been taken by the District Administration to promote winter tourism activities in unexplored scenic places, destinations of the district and to boost the tourism sector in Kulgam.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, CEO-ADA, CPO, ACR, ACD, DFO, DYS&SO, TO and other concerned officers, besides members of various trekking groups also participated in the meeting.
