Amicable solution to this pressing issue would be the only way out to ensure that drinking water reaches every household, which is the most essential part for living, JKPCC President added.
The administration must devise a mechanism to ensure supply of drinking water and for irrigation facilities to both the areas (Verinag Dooru), equally from Verinag Spring, besides the fish production in Verinag itself & other ponds must be preserved to ensure that tourism of the area would not be affected due to dearth of water supply.
Pertinently, the construction of a water reservoir was also in the pipeline where the water would be stored and supplied to both the areas, but that has not been executed, so far, JKPCC President said.

Though people of Dooru already get the supply, but there are apprehensions in the minds of people in Verinag that their agriculture land or orchards won’t get the required supply due to extending pipes from Verinag Spring, which has to be addressed, on priority basis, Mir urged.
